Our team of Service Technicians are professionally certified by the Fire Protection Association of Australia (FPAA) and are trained in maintaining all aspects of fire protection equipment. Unlike many other fire protection companies, you will only have one technician attending to the servicing of your equipment, allowing them to gain intimate knowledge of the unique requirements and history of your site.

Our team of licensed builders, electricians, plumbers, door technicians, sprinkler and pump specialists install and repair all fire protection systems. All work is carried out to the latest Australian Standards ensuring that your fire protection equipment will perform in the event of a fire emergency.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why should fire eqiupment be regularly serviced?

Regular testing and maintenance of your equipment will ensure its operation and effectiveness in the event of a fire. Australian Standards (AS) stipulate guidelines on frequency of inspection that your equipment requires with the aim to reduce the risk of harm to people and damage to property.

Who is responsible for Certification?

Under the Environmental Planning and Assessment Regulation 2000, responsibility is placed on the owner or agent of the building to ensure that a copy of the Annual Fire Safety Statement (AFSS) is provided to Council and your local Fire Brigade by its due date. A copy of the Statement must also be prominently displayed in the building. The owner is required to ensure that each of the fire safety measures on the statement has been assessed by a properly qualified person. BettaFire’s service technicians are trained and knowledgeable of current Australian Standards and are qualified to professionally asses your fire safety measures.

Do I need an Annual Fire Safety Statement (AFSS)?

If required, your Local Council can request property Statement from you. You may also require an AFSS for OH&S or insurance purposes. It is your legal obligation to ensure the safety of your tenants and or employees. By having your property Certified, this indicates that in the event of a fire, all fire protection equipment on site should work effectively and can be used to minimise the damage to your property.

Even if Council has not requested an AFSS, we would still strongly advise that you have us undertake all scheduled maintenance of the equipment on your property. We can supply an AFSC (Annual Fire Safety Certificate) for all compliant equipment to you free of charge on completion of required works and receipt of payment of your account.

What do I need to do to ensure that all testing is completed on my property?

If your Council requires an Annual Fire Safety Statement, you can request a schedule from them containing all listed equipment on your property that requires Certification. This should then be forwarded to us so we can commence testing of these items. In the event that there is no existing schedule, all equipment on site must be Certified. Prior to our technician attending your site, please consider which areas may require special access so that all testing can be completed whilst they are on site.

Is scheduled testing disruptive?

Our technicians are generally able to assess your equipment efficiently and conduct all maintenance and testing with minimal disruption. Access to all fire protection equipment is required. If our technician’s presence on your site will be disruptive, please let us know in advance.
